This Sunday’s story of the descendants of Abraham tells Jacob’s marriages to Leah and Rachel–stories of a family that are, at best, really uncomfortable to imagine. And yet, they also tell of a God who continues to work through all our all-to-real discomfort and pain, reminding us that we are inseparably joined together with divine love.
