We continue to clear space this Advent season, so that we have ample room for housing the holy as Christ is born into the world. This week, our scripture passages bring together jarring words from John the Baptism and an invitation to joy; this unlikely pair reminds us that there’s good news in the gospel call to reflect on what we have and how live our lives.
