When 1 Peter describes Jesus Christ with the image of a cornerstone, it doesn’t merely describe the foundational strength of our salvation–it holds unlikely descriptors together: rejected, chosen, precious. This metaphor gives us lots of opportunity to delight in the unlikely, life-changing power of our God.
