It’s Palm Sunday, when we imagine Peter with the rest of the disciples, as Jesus enters Jerusalem on a colt. They witness crowds shouting hosannas, and surely the disciples are confused. They are supposed to be praising Caesar, but instead they are shouting for the one entering the city on a donkey. Their singing is subversive, courageous, and contagious. It lights the path forward through Holy Week, as the sacrificial, wondrous love of Christ becomes sharp and clear.
