This All Saints Day, we celebrate the lives of those who have gone before us. In particular, we remember those who have died this year. Our sadness and grief for their absence from this world invites us to heightened appreciation of the gift of life; their witness reminds us about what matters, too. In worship, we claim the vibrant presence of the “communion of saints,” including those who’ve gone before us and all those who gather in worship, anywhere, today. In the face of even death, we gather to claim life and rejoice.
