17 Mar Jesus and the Man Born Blind
Is there a story of Jesus and the Man Who Was Born Blind in the sanctuary? During Sunday School, we’ll wonder together: How does Jesus see, really see, what is before him? And how does that “seeing” bring healing to those who are invisible? In addition, the older kids will discuss what made folks ask Jesus, “Who sinned, to make this man blind?” We’ll make our own stained glass “windows” and form a beloved community through play and art and faith formation.
Last Sunday, we were thankful to our consistent volunteer, Ashley Kishibay, and our parent volunteer Marcus Roper. We studied fascinating liturgical art (you can see it in our Narthex Gallery and also on the Prayer Wall outside) to find symbolism in the clothing and elsewhere of Jesus with the woman of Samaria. I hope your kids got home with their children’s bulletins that contain that art. We also made beautiful watercolor notecards for anyone we thought needed a word of encouragement. One of our third graders even made one for the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria, through UMCOR, where our weekly collection in our red pails will go!
