19 Sep Lady Wisdom
“Lady Wisdom” in the Bible. Who was she? What wise characters do you know in movies, books, and real life? Bobbi Shiflett helped lead a rousing discussion on these various personas for the 1st-3rd grade class, and the pictures each of the classes drew of someone who is wise are hanging in our hallway on the 2nd floor. I love that Arden chose her mom “Carol” by name. We got to burst balloons if we could answer whether a story was wise or not-wise in our community game. Very fun morning. And the community growth and the faith formation are happening!
This Sunday we’ll look at “othering,” centered on Mark 9, where the disciples jostle for being the “GOAT” and Jesus responds with, “Listen. Look at these children that you think should act like little adults but who need protection and nurturing. Focus on them. Focus on people without power.” We’ll play a crazy wonderful & inclusive version of “musical chairs,” make an all-embracing mural in each class, and enjoy ice cream treats at 10:25 before our game, story, and choir. It’s Homecoming Sunday!
