16 Feb Preparing for Lent

What a precious day to see little ones and big ones greet each other over the love and delight of Valentine’s Day. The most common word the children shared as we prepared for the mission to Belmont was “awkward.” And the same word was used when we returned, except that it was quickly followed by, “But it got easier, and I gave all my valentines!”

This Sunday, we’ll bury the alleluias and prepare ourselves for Lent through the story of Jesus calling the first disciples. We’ll even be weaving our nets!

Each Sunday in Lent the children will be leading their families in Sacred Heart Conversations, using the little heart-shaped boxes they will bring home, as well as following the daily Lenten Spiral. A blessed Lent to all.
