One of the delights of children’s ministry is seeing the physical and spiritual growth of our children. I am thankful for our church whose members light up when children are present. What a gift to them and to all of us to see this warm acceptance and intergenerational love!

Last Sunday, we told the story of young Samuel and old Eli, and the courage it took Samuel to tell the truth. We also played outside and danced a song in choir. Lots of energy and focus helped us to find the quiet center and also the exuberant joy which comes to children as they learn.

This Sunday will be Promotion Sunday. The 4th graders will receive their grown-up Bibles, and we will honor all students who are moving on to a new grade, a new school, or into the work force. Helping us make this transition will be the story of Genesis 3, when God lent a hand to Eve & Adam as they made the transition from the Garden of Eden into life as we know it. The children’s choir will also sing! Don’t miss!
