We celebrate the sacrament of communion on this second Sunday of Advent. Our communion table is a foretaste of the heavenly banquet, which comes in the fulfillment of time. We get to taste and savor the goodness of that divine feast, at a table that belongs to Christ and at which everyone is welcome. When we’ve believed that there isn’t enough room at our tables, it’s because we’ve failed. God’s love is always big enough.
