This week is the beginning of Black History Month and an invitation for our country to reflect on parts of our history that some of us would rather not remember – or at least, they would not prefer to remember them accurately. However difficult it may be the church must examine its history, its “valley of dry bones,” if we are to properly put ourselves back together and do the healing work that Jesus calls us to.
