Our faith has paradoxical claims at its heart, including that our salvation comes from a crucified God whose wisdom looks like foolishness. Our God shows strength through weakness. Further, in our Methodist tradition, we add methods, practices, structures, and rules that somehow lead us to freedom. This Sunday, we continue our journey through John Wesley’s teachings on “Christian perfection,” and Paul’s first letter to the Corinthian church.
