Foundational to our faith is the wild idea that humans carry the divine image; each of us, in our beautiful diversity, bears the likeness of God. In each other, we see God. This Sunday’s Advent scripture, about a visit between Mary and Elizabeth, describes a holy encounter. These two women see holiness in one another, and their companionship opens space for incredible, beautiful possibilities.
