What does it mean to have faith – in God or in anything for that matter? In everyday conversation, “faith” is often treated as synonymous with “belief.” Within contemporary Christianity, faith is often understood as a confessional belief in God or in Jesus as your “personal savior.” However, the examples of faithful people that we find in the bible or within Christian tradition paint a richer picture of what faith is and what it entails. Faith is more than just intellectual assent. Faith is more broadly about commitment and engagement with the social and political realities of our world, even when change seems impossible or unlikely. Join us as we explore how we, as a Church, have come this far by faith.
