I give this to you in love.

“I give this to you in love,” each child responded as another child chose the toy that they had brought for our Toy Swap. And in this way, we tried to find a contemporary way of learning how the first century disciples shared all they had in common. Gratitude and delight filled our Story Room last Sunday! In addition, every project/response we made to this ancient story was to be done in partners. I loved witnessing how they negotiated coloring the same page or mural. Cooperation, sharing, and love filled each classroom.

This Sunday we’ll be studying John 14:1-14, trying on the idea of how we can see the face of God – not just in Jesus but in everyone that helps instead of hurts. We will miss those who will be away on the family camp-out (although I’m delighted I get to spend Friday and Saturday with you), and we look forward to all the kids who will search for God in contemporary guises. Maybe God is like that, too!
